Our Technology

South Shore Dental Prosthetics is proud to offer our patients the latest technology available in dentistry. We use Digital X-Rays, Digital Impressions, CBCT 3D Cone Beam X-Rays, Laser Dentistry, and the best Dental Microscope technology. By using these cutting-edge technologies, we will be able to provide our patients with the best possible care.

Digital X-Rays

Digital X-Rays are safe and emit less radiation than traditional X-Rays. This technology allows us to take high-quality X-Rays that we can view immediately on our computer screens. In addition, Digital X-Rays will enable us to get a clear picture of your teeth and jaws to provide you with the most accurate diagnosis and treatment plan possible.

Digital Impressions

If you’ve ever had dental impressions taken, you know that it’s not the most pleasant experience. Biting down on cold, goopy putty for several minutes is uncomfortable. And if you have to have multiple impressions taken, it can be an absolute nightmare.

Fortunately, our dental office uses digital impressions, a much better alternative to traditional putty and tray impressions. With digital impressions, there’s no goopy putty involved. Instead, we use a small, hand-held scanner to take a 3D image of your teeth. The scanner is connected to a computer, creating a digital model of your teeth. At South Shore Dental Prosthetics, we use the latest Primescan technology for digital impressions.

Digital impressions allow us to take a 3D image of your teeth to create custom dental crowns, bridges, and other restorations that fit perfectly.

The entire process is quick, comfortable, and accurate. There are many benefits to using digital impressions, both for the patient and the dental office. For patients, the most significant advantage is that it’s much more comfortable than traditional impressions.

In addition, digital impressions are much more accurate than traditional impressions. With traditional impressions, there’s always the potential for error, which can lead to a less-than-perfect fit for your dental restoration. But with digital impressions, the margin for error is much smaller, so you can be confident that your dental restoration will fit perfectly.

Finally, digital impressions are more efficient for dental offices. We can take impressions and send them to the dental laboratory faster than traditional impressions, meaning that you can get your restoration quicker, with less time and effort on our part.

CBCT 3D Cone Beam X-Rays

At South Shore Dental prosthetics, we use CBCT 3D scans to help us better understand our patients’ dental conditions and plan their treatment. This technology allows us to take detailed, three-dimensional images of our patient’s teeth, jaws, and surrounding structures. This information helps us diagnose problems more accurately and plan personalized treatment, one that we tailor to each patient.

CBCT 3D scanning is a relatively new technology, and we are proud to be able to offer it to our patients. This technology is changing how we practice dentistry, and we are excited to be at the forefront of this change.

Laser Dentistry

If you have ever had a gum procedure, you know that it can be pretty uncomfortable. Traditional gum procedures involve cutting into the gums, which can be painful. However, South Shore Dental Prosthetics uses laser dentistry to perform gum procedures, meaning we can operate on your gums without causing pain.

Laser dentistry is a relatively new technology, quickly becoming the standard of care for many dental procedures. It is much more precise than traditional methods, allowing us to operate with minimal discomfort to our patients.

If you need a gum procedure, we recommend you come to our office. We can promise you that you will be in good hands and not feel any pain during or after the procedure. In addition, laser procedures often require less time in the dental chair and can be completed in fewer visits.

Another benefit of laser dentistry is that we use it to treat various dental problems. From gum disease to tooth decay, laser dentistry can provide patients with the treatment they need to improve their oral health.

Dental Microscope

And we use the latest dental microscope technology to provide the best possible care for our patients undergoing root canal treatment. A dental microscope is a powerful tool that lets us see inside the mouth with outstanding clarity and detail.

We can treat root canals with much greater precision, leading to better patient outcomes. In addition, a microscope helps us spot problems we might otherwise miss, such as small cracks in the teeth.

At South Shore Dental Prosthetics we believe that the only best dental technology provides the best care, making your dental visits more comfortable and efficient!
